Re: Dead Board Random

The question is which, I actually checked my documents and found my notes again (games keep making folders in it, so it gets filled with useless ones, making it hard to find the ones with my notes in).
So I could revive or restart the Group Control one.

The Valey of the Dead ones may have been on another computer.
I still have the pixel art for it, so I could restart it (and tweak it).

The Demonic RP I would almost need to redo the artstyle if I'm to revive it, there's too many shades.
Or I could just restart it.

But which?!

There are 3 of them, and even then I could do some changes if I restarted them.

Make a new one?
You have seen how the others worked, and which ones drew the most crowd, try a new style of game. Or just start a new one using a current style.

The one with one group seemed to work, so maybe I'll do another one of them.

I could either go nuts (strange setting) or go nuts (insane difficulty).

...

I think I'll go nuts with it (may have to wait a bit though, not very energetic right now).

I think most of us don't feel energetic to do much at the moment.

Dead Board Roleplay has now started, go create a character in the setup page, then I will add you in.
May as well get some traffic out of this site. :L

Ah, dark color scheme, how mine eyes have missed you.
Most forums have white everywhere, oh how it harms my eyes.

Steampunk sucks, and I'm going to cover the areas the Steampunk setting is inferior to other settings. I'll cover combat for now, I may go onto other things later.

Combat.
In Steampunk settings, combat is a mess, as the era it imitates isn't a good era for combat.
Melee weapons are: sabers, pikes, and bayonets. You may argue the rapier is there, but this is in dueling contexts, not proper combat.
The Steampunk setting is inferior in terms of melee weapons compared to the Medieval settings, who sports a wide variety of weapons, almost all melee weapons saw use in Medieval settings.
Ranged weapons are worse, seeing only muskets, rifles, and cannons, bows and arrows being long since phased out.
The Steampunk setting is technically worse to the Medieval setting in ranged as well, but not nearly as much as the Industrial setting, with rifles, machineguns, howitzers, early tanks, sniper rifles, grenades, etc.

The somewhat iconic steam powered boats and airships are inferior compared to the destroyers and airships of the Industrial setting, which has access to a wider variety of weapons.
And when we go into the ridiculous Steampunk things like robots and tanks, the Dieselpunk setting comes to best it, with not only more logical constructs, but also a wider variety of weapons.
Fantasy weapons in Steampunk has to go full crazy to give a wide variety in weapons, while Dieselpunk, based on the Industrial setting has more potential from the start, and can give a wider variety without going as far.
The Steampunk setting is poorly thought out, and should not be as popular as it is, since it's not very good in terms of combat, where the Medieval, Industrial, and Dieselpunk settings best them.
